Director general of the National Pharmacovigilance Center (CNPV) and member of the scientific committee to combat the coronavirus Riadh Daghfous stressed that the Pandemic situation in Tunisia is stable and that no new variant of the Covid-19 virus has been detected.
Daghfous said that the H13n2 influenza virus was found, and that it is no different from common types of influenza viruses, specifying that only one case of infection with this virus was registered 3 weeks ago .
In a statement made to tap, he added that this virus had formely appeared in Tunisia without presenting any real danger, stressing the existence of other viruses in Tunisia, which have not spread and do not represent any danger, such as “SARS Cove” virus, and the “Bronchiolitis” virus.
He further stated the low demand for vaccination to several factors, including climate change and rising temperatures over the last period.
The director general of the CNPV underlined the need to continue the vaccination campaign, against the flu or the Corona virus, in particular for the elderly and those suffering from chronic illnesses.
