Tunisia-Ridha Bel Haj denounces the withdrawal of the diplomatic passport from Moncef Marzouki

Al Amal member Ridha Bel Haj condemned the removal of the diplomatic passport from former President of the Republic Moncef Marzouki following the latter’s latest remarks in which he confesses to having contributed to the postponement of the Francophonie summit which was to take place next month in Tunisia.

Bel Haj denounced the fact that the former President of the Republic whom he called a “supporter of democracy” was being penalised for having expressed his opinion.

He additionally considered that the withdrawal of the diplomatic passport from a former President of the Republic was a “dangerous precedent” and evokes the practices of the former President of the Republic Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali who used to take revenge on his adversaries and use the judiciary against them.
