In response to the presentation of the main lines of the draft of the new Foreign Exchange Code, academic Ridha Chkoundali estimated, in a statement to Tunisie Numérique, that it was first required to submit an economic vision to set the goals to be achieved.
The objective, according to him, is to provide a certain consistency between the economic vision and the new laws.
“The liberalization provided for in this new draft of the Exchange Code needs to be part of a vision of freedom in a global aspect. The new Exchange Code must be accompanied by a revision of the Investment Code. The contrast could present a risk to the Tunisian dinar if demand for foreign currencies increases,” recommends Chkondali.
