Tunisia-Road accidents: number of deaths nears 1,200 deaths in 2023

Statistics from the National Road Traffic Observatory reveal that 5,572 road accidents have been registered since the beginning of the year until December 28, 2023, with a toll of 1,195 deaths and 7,655 wounded. Compared to 2022, the number of deaths has risen by around 15%. Note that the year recorded 99 fewer accidents compared to 2022.

In terms of deaths, the governorate of Sfax registered the highest number of deaths with 137 deaths following 291 accidents resulting in 417 injuries.
