Tunisia – Rome offers its assistance to Tunisia in the fight against illegal migration

Italian Ambassador to Tunisia Lorenzo Fanara held discussions with acting Interior Minister Ridha Gharsallaoui on Wednesday. Fanara underlined Tunisia’s effort to stem the flow of illegal migrants flocking to Italy’s coasts and reemphasised Rome’s support for Tunisia in this day-to-day struggle.

 Gharsallaoui indicated to his Italian guest, that aid should not be restricted to the security aspect of the battle against this scourge, but that a comprehensive approach should be considered, especially in terms of economic support programs and social.
