Tunisia – Saïed calls for better control of illegal foreign financing of parties

President of the Republic, Kais Saied, welcomed on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Carthage Palace Mr Fathi Zouhair Ennouri, Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia.

This meeting focused on the results of Tunisia’s participation in the ordinary meeting of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, as well as the meetings that took place with several country representatives, regional financial institutions and international and foreign national banks and establishments.

The head of the state welcomed the appreciation that Tunisia received, underscoring once again that our country, which has always been open to collaboration, has always adhered to its position according to which this cooperation is subject to its national choices. and not under conditions, or dictation, as was the case in the past.

On another level, the President of the Republic highlighted the necessity to redouble efforts on the part of the Financial Analysis Commission to put an end to the illegal financing from which parties have chosen to fall into the arms of those who seek abroad to destabilize Tunisia.
