On Saturday, March 2, 2024, in Algeria, President Kais Saied of Tunisia met with His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Raïssi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This encounter stressed Tunisia’s eagerness to bolster the already strong bonds of brotherhood and collaboration with Iran. President Saied voiced his hopes for the development of these relations in various fields, especially in the economic and commercial sectors. He stressed the significance of exploring new opportunities for exchange and partnership, continuing to strengthen traditions of consultation and coordination, and intensifying high-level visit exchanges to serve the two nations’ common interests.
President Saied likewise reiterated Tunisia’s unwavering stance on Palestinian rights, highlighting its support for the Palestinian people’s fight to establish an independent state across Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital.
From his side, President Raïssi underlined Iran’s genuine desire to develop its relations with Tunisia. He underscored the potential for exchanging experiences and expertise across multiple sectors and called for the enhancement of economic and commercial links to meet the aspirations of both the Tunisian and Iranian peoples.
The Iranian president invited the head of state to visit Tehran. The President of the Republic also invited the Iranian President to visit Tunisia.
