Speaking at yesterday plenary session dedicated to examing the 2021 state budget, Democratic Bloc MP Salem Labiadh, announced, that his bloc would submit an additional article to the related law.
It provides, in effect, for the reduction of 0.5% of the earnings of financial institutions, large shopping centres and oil companies as means to employ those who have been unemployed for ten years or more, according to the provisions of Law no. 38/2020.
In his intervention, the MP stated that “Ahmed Ibn Abi Dhiaf penned an essay in the middle of the 19th century which corresponds to the current situation”, indicating that the Tunisian state has become poor.
Labiadh moreover added that the current policy legitimizes “a shift from tax evasion to tax insurgency.”
