The member of the scientific committee to fight Covid-19, Sami Abdelmoumen spoke today about the general lockdown prepared for each weekend according to the meeting of the regional commission for the fight against disasters of the governorate of Tunis.

On the national radio airwaves on July 6, 2021, Dr Abdelmoumen highlighted the lack of required tools to secure a rigid application of the health protocol, relating to the Turkish experience which used the same measures for months while employing the monopoly of state power.

Despite the lack of direct impact in the face of this pandemic peak, Dr Abdelmoumen did not pause to highlight the least advantages of some government decisions. He explained that the accumulation of food waste favours the field of transmission with a rate that can reach 80%, hence the importance of the curfew.

He also added that these measures will enable the burden of public hospitals to be lightened, but without forgetting that a national dialogue between the union and the CNAM is required in order to involve the clinics in the care of Covid patients. 19, particularly one hundred patients for ten days.

Dr Abdelmoumen also believes that the death rate among young Covid-19 patients has grown due to the lack of staff and technical facilities. Samir Abdelmoumen predicts that we will reach 4,000 deaths per month if Tunisians do not properly respect preventive measures, especially since the state effort remains insufficient.
