UGTT Deputy Secretary-General Samir Cheffi condemned the threat against the organization’s general secretary, Noureddine Tabboubi, as well as “members of his family” by a person he called an“extremist”.
Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, he said that the UGTT, which opposed the divestiture of public companies and liberal policies, is now targeted by the extremist and radical right.
By attacking the UGTT, they are actually striking the choices of the UGTT which has always taken a stand for the weak classes, he said.
