Tunisia-Sectors authorized to maintain their activities during lockdown

The Ministry of Trade announced on Friday, the list of businesses and sectors allowed to continue their activities, during the imposed lockdown which is set to begin from May 9 to 16.

Below is the list of businesses and sectors authorized to maintain their activities:

• Food shops (general food, meat, poultry, fruit and vegetables, fish, pastries and bread)
• Wholesale stores for vegetables, fruits and fish
• Stores selling detergents and sanitary products
• large, small and medium  commercial space except for shopping malls which will be shut down
• Companies with import and export activities.
• Industrial refining, processing and storage units that fall within the aforementioned sectors in this list
• Grain storage silos (Cereal Board).
• Windmills
• Food flour manufacturing units
• Bakeries
• Yeast manufacturing units
• Wholesale trade (food and spices)
• Milk collection units
• Deposits relating to the Tunisian trade office
• Poultry plants
• Slaughterhouses
• Cold stores for meat and eggs
• Cold stores for fruits, vegetables and fish
• Wholesale and retail trade in vegetables, fruit, fish, meat and poultry.
• ll packaging units and the company that produces the packaging raw materials
• Mineral water bottling units
• Vegetable oil refining units
• Bottling units for vegetable oils
• Storage centres belonging to the canned tomato manufacturing units
• Date sorting and packaging units
• Olive oil warehouse and bottling units
• Sugar manufacturing and refining companies
• Shops selling pesticides, fertilizers and agricultural tools
• Sale of medical and paramedical equipment
• LPG and coal gas distributors
• Wholesale markets
• Pastry shops

According to the Ministry of Commerce, all economic operators concerned in the acquisition, supply, import and export process are permitted to move between regions and during the curfew.

According to the same source, home delivery is also authorized to the shops mentioned above.
