Medenine University Hospital registered this evening a notable shortage of oxygen, which obliged the hospital to transport 6 patients to private clinics, head of the emergency department, Dr Zuhair Yahyaoui told Tunisie Numérique.

Our speaker revealed that  4 of the aforementioned patients have finished their transfer, as one patient was directed to a clinic in Medenine and 3 others to  Zarzis, while two others are still waiting to be transported to a clinic in Bengardane and a hospital in Djerba.

Dr. Al-Yahawi emphasised that the current quantity of oxygen is not enough until tomorrow morning, as the hospital was given only a rather small amount today, opposed to the number of residents in the Covid unit, whose capacity reached 120%, equivalent to 52 patients while the number of beds does not surpass 45 beds.
