Regional Director of Public Health in Sfax, Dr. Hatem El Cherif, confirmed that there is no serious increase in the number of “Shigella” cases.
El Cherifi told Tunisie Numérique that around 26 cases of Shigella have been registered in the governorate since last August, adding that all cases left the hospital.
He likewise mentioned the necessity to comply with preventive measures in order to limit the spread of the infection, which consists in washing hands with water and soap, particularly before preparing food.
