A patrol of the Customs Guard Division in Sfax thwarted an attempt to smuggle more than 40,000 narcotics tablets aboard a car registered abroad.
According to a report issued by the General Directorate of Customs, on Monday, the aforementioned team seized the car with two individuals on board and, after subjecting it to a thorough inspection, 43,650 tablets of “Pregabalin 300 mg” were discovered hidden in a cache prepared for this purpose.
A detention report was drawn up and, in consultation with the public prosecutor, he authorized the referral of the two suspects and the seizure to the competent security services to continue the inquiries, according to the same source.
