Tunisia-Sfax’s Blue Sky clears up as SIAPE facility shuts down

Sfax blue skies cleared up as production units in SIAPE facility was shut down by government order. The factory closer comes after fierce objections from residents regarding emission form the local factory which provoked serious illness and environmental problem.

SIAPE facility was promptly closed despite recent statement issued by the regional federation which steadfastly opposed the decision. The official statement said there was a shortage of sufficient evidence properly required to take this ruling, arguing the commercial impact if the local facility is shut down.

The regional federation also requested for supervisory authorities to publish initial test results to accurately determine pollution rates at the factory site.
