Tunisia: Significant drop in number of fatal road accidents

According to the National Road Safety Observatory, Tunisia registered a substantial decline in the number of fatal road accidents during January 2024.

The same source clarified that the number of accidents declined by 49.82% compared to the same month of 2023, leading to a fall of 39.50% in the number of deaths linked to these accidents.

Speed, lack of attention, and failure to give priority to the right are among the main causes of fatal accidents, Speed represented 36% of the causes of deadly accidents on the roads in January 2024, followed by lack of attention at 29%, then failure to respect right priority at 7.9%.
