Tunisia-Sisi and Saied call for holding the Libyan elections on time

Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi expressed Wednesday Egypt’s support for the measures and efforts of Tunisia’s President  Kais Saied, directed at building a ‘better future’ for the brotherly Tunisian people and achieving stability in the country.

During a phone call, Sisi asserted Egypt’s complete readiness to harness all its capabilities in order to provide the necessary assistance in this framework to the brotherly Tunisian side in light of the distinguished bilateral relationships Brotherhood between Egypt and Tunisia.

In the same context, both parties called for holding the Libyan presidential and parliamentary elections on schedule.

The Egyptian presidency stated, in a statement, that Sisi and Saied reviewed a number of regional files of common interest, particularly the Libyan crisis.
The two presidents affirmed “full keenness to settle the Libyan crisis in a way that paves the way for the return of security, stability and sovereignty to this brotherly country, particularly by holding presidential and parliamentary elections on their scheduled date at the conclusion of this year, in compliance with what the Libyans agreed on in the road map.”
The two presidents emphasised the importance of all foreign forces and mercenaries leaving Libya in accordance with international resolutions.
