Tunisia-SNCFT: union movements cost nearly 100 thousand dinars per day

The Tunisian National Railways Compan (SNCFT) revealed that the activity of the trains transporting phosphate and goods in the Sfax, Gabes and Gafsa was hampered. This is the result of the rejection of train drivers in these areas to ensure their work, which has had an effect on the lines connecting Sfax to Gabès.

The company revealed that these movements, which began Wednesday, September 28, did without notice as is customary in union movements. The protesters assert the reactivation of line 13 between Sfax and Metaloui and whose shutdown hinders the transport of passenger transport while raising the cost of transporting phosphate by exploiting line 21.

They also require that the amount of milk allocated to workers who work in the south is doubled, the increase in the value of restaurant tickets and the reintegration of returned employees.

The SNCFT specifies that these union movements cost the SNCFT the sum of nearly 100 thousand dinars per day without counting losses at the national level.
