The National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) “strongly” denounces the normalisation agreement declared between Bahrain and Israel, asking the executive power to decline “openly” this “plot” against the Palestinian people.
In a statement made public on Saturday, the Journalists’ Union requested the Tunisian government to boycott this normalisation action and to reject any political coalition supporting the US-Israel position.
The Union considered the Bahraini move as “predictable” and is “a continuation of the normalisation process of many Arab regimes with the Zionists, whose deal of the century is one of the main illustrations to further pave the way for the winding-up of the Palestinian cause.
The journalists’ union exhorts “the Tunisian civil, political and popular forces to mobilise to reject this plot against the Palestinian people,” recalling that Tunisia is still in a state of war with the Zionist enemy.
The SNJT also calls on the House of People’s Representatives to pass the bill governing “the criminalisation of any form of normalisation with Israel.”
The union reiterated its “position of principle in defence of the Palestinian cause and its rejection of all attempts and initiatives for normalisation, targeting the legitimate and historic right of the Palestinian people to establish their State over their entire territory.”
