Remarking on the latest events that have taken place in recent days at the parliament, the National Union of Tunisian Journalists cautioned against these practices, especially in this critical health, political and socio-economic situation.
In a published press release, the SNJT denounced the attacks against PDL leader Abir Moussi and MP Wissem Chaari. It, therefore, condemned the seizure of the equipment of the journalists of the National Television responsible for securing the live broadcast of the work of the parliament by Abir Moussi and the deputies of her parliamentary bloc calling, at the same time, not to include the journalists in disputes and political tensions.
According to the same source, the SNJT called on the House speaker to assume his responsibility, calling on him, in the same framework, to give healthy working conditions for journalists. It added that if violence persists, necessary steps will be set in place. The SNJT additionally called on the components of civil society to organize an emergency meeting to address the deteriorating health, political and socio-economic situation in the nation.
