Prison and Rehabilitation Directorate spokeswoman Sofiène Mezguich said 34 cases of coronavirus infections had been reported among prisoners, all of whom were screened at Mornaguia Prison. In addition, 5 infections were recorded among prison staff.
At a press conference on the project to support vulnerable groups organized by the National Forum for the Prevention and Combating of Torture and the Anti-Trafficking Forum, Mezguich said that now, new detainees are being referred to other prisons to relieve pressure on Mornaguia Prison.
