Tunisia- Sonede officer assaulted by axe after realizing that water was being stolen

A medical source told Tunisie Numériqe that the Sonede officer from Enfidha branch is in critical condition and is currently in the intensive care unit, pointing out that he previously underwent surgery.

The National guards arrested in Enfidha the attacker who turned out to have a criminal record and six search warrants for theft and violence. The operation took place in a mountain area in Bouficha where he took refuge.

The Sonede officer was previously assaulted by an axe while on duty, affirmed The National Water Distribution Utility Assistant-Secretary-General Ala Eddine Marzouki in a statement to Tunisie Numéerique. The assault happened after he realized that water was being stolen by a citizen.

He was hit on the head only to faint, he was transported to Enfidha regional hospital then to CHU Sahloul where medical teams patched him up.
