Tunisia-Soumoud Coalition: Prolongation of current situation risks weakening Kais Saied’s position

Soumoud Coalition repeated its support for the measures adopted on July 25, 2021, evoking that it was among the components of civil society that supported the revision of the political regime. The Coalition highlighted the meetings between the President of the Republic Kais Saied and competent people specializing in constitutional law calling for speeding up the development of the roadmap.

It revealed that lengthening the current situation will only weaken Kais Saied’s position. According to the same source, Soumoud called for the establishment of a social and political front bringing together national organizations and democratic parties supporting the July 25 measures. Soumoud likewise called for the appointment of a competent person specializing in the economic field to lead the government in order to be able to adopt the required reforms.
