Tunisia-Sousse: 11-day-old baby girl tests positive for COVID-19

Speaking to Jawhara FM, The information officer of the regional health directorate of Sousse, Hafsia Laadheri confirmed that tests revealed that an 11-day-old girl has tested positive for COVID-19. She explained that the test was conducted at CHU Farhat Hached.

According to preliminary data, it was discovered that the mother who is a nurse was infected with the virus after her natural birth at the Maternity Hospital in Farhat Hachad. She was tested after suffering a high fever.

Her baby showed clinical symptoms (high temperature)  after leaving the hospital, she was treated and after a test, it was confirmed that the child was positive for COVID-19 which was likely transmitted by her mother.
