Tunisia-Sousse: 184 buses to ensure transport of students

The interim administrator responsible for the management of the Sahel transport company (STS) Kamel Nafti revealed that the STS dedicated 184 buses to school and university transport this year.

These buses will provide around 700 shuttles for the transport of more than 56 million students, high schools and students on 207 lines spread over the governorates of Sousse, Mahdia and Sousse during the current school and university year.

He emphasised that the company operated to strengthen buses’ maintenance despite the restricted current capacities linked in particular to the lack of staff and technicians and the ageing of the park and intensify the points of sale of school subscriptions in many delegations.

The STS, which provides urban public transport in the three governorates of the Sahel, has a park of 467 buses spreading on a road network with a total length of more than 15,000 kilometres.
