Tunisia-Sousse: Drug trafficking network dismantled

The Central Anti-Narcotics Squad of the National Guard in Ben Arous recently conducted a series of raids in collaboration with the first investigating judge from the third office of the Court of First Instance in Sousse 1. This operation was initiated following the apprehension of an individual against whom 19 search warrants were issued, alongside his wife, in connection with drug trafficking.

The General Administration of the National Guard disclosed that this concerted effort led to the arrest of nine drug dealers, including four women. Additionally, law enforcement seized a sum of 24,326 dinars, suspected to be proceeds from drug trafficking. The confiscated items included five sheets of Indian cannabis and 116 narcotic tablets of the types “Parkisol” and “Lidol,” both derivatives of the drug Pregabalin listed in Schedule A.

The investigating judge overseeing the case granted permission for the arrest of all suspects on charges of “trafficking in narcotic substances by an organized gang” and “money laundering by an organized agreement.”
