During a working session on the preparation for Eid Al-Adha, held at the governorate headquarters in Sousse and supervised by the governor, it was revealed that the prices of sheep for Eid have remarkably increased compared to last year. According to the announcement, the price for a sheep weighing 20 kg ranges between 800 and 1,000 dinars. For sheep weighing between 20 kg and 35 kg, the price varies from 1,200 to 1,500 dinars. The price for rams weighing more than 40 kg can exceed 2,000 dinars, marking an increase of more than 50% compared to prices recorded last year.

Al Ghabi stated that Eid Al-Adha takes place in exceptional circumstances, due to the persistent drought and high prices of animal fodder in global markets following the Russo-Ukrainian war, adding: “ The state should have intervened by importing sheep or quantities of chilled meat to adjust market prices and determine the reference price. » For sacrifices similar to those of last years.
