Tunisia-Sousse: Mayors declare against holding UGTT Congress

The mayors of Sousse declared yesterday their categorical refusal of the holding of the exceptional UGTT Congress in one of the hotels in the region on July 8-9 .

On the sidelines of the meeting of the regional office of the General Federation of Tunisian Municipalities (FNCT), it called for the adjournment of this Congress and honour the decisions inflicted by the regional authorities and to take into record the exceptional critical situation.

Calls were made for the regional authorities, in particular, the governor of Sousse, to take the required measures to prevent the holding of this Congress in order to save the lives of citizens, emphasising the need to respect the law.
