Residents of Sousse have voiced their discontent with the shortage of certain foodstuffs, including sugar and rice. The correspondent of Tunisie Numérique ‘s reporter in the region reached the regional director of trade, Faouzi Taleb, who rejected this information, reassuring citizens about the availability of these products on the Tunisian market.
He called in the same line of ideas on citizens not to stress about this, pointing out that the stock of sugar amounts to 4700 tons in the region. This quantity covers, according to him, the necessities of the citizens of the said governorate in sugar for two months. The speaker confirmed that no shortage of rice, tea or coffee has been registered in the markets of the Sousse region.
