Tunisia – Sousse: Resolution of enigma of decapitated and decomposed corpse found in Oued Ghenim

The official spokesperson for the Sousse 1 court, Wissam Al-Sherif, disclosed, yesterday, Monday, January 8, 2024, the details of the crime linked to the finding of a decomposing human body with a severed head in Oued Ghenim, in the Sousse Jawhara area.

He confirmed in a press statement that security forces yesterday apprehended the murder suspect, who is none other than the father of the victim, a 14-year-old girl.

Al-Sherif pointed out that the victim’s head was discovered in an abandoned house in the neighbourhood.

Inquiry data indicates that the murderer killed his daughter in January 2023 and intentionally kept the body in the refrigerator of his home before deciding to throw it into the Wadi.

Al-Sharif added that a notebook was found, at the suspect’s house, from which papers were cut out and found next to the body in the form of a message indicating how the crime was allegedly committed, and attempting to implicate other people, to cover it up. The body was placed in a refrigerator for a year.

The suspect admitted to the accusations against him and attributed the horrific act to his displeasure with his daughter’s behaviour.
