Tunisia – state of health of young man injured by mine explosion in Jebel Mghila

The blast of a landmine this Sunday afternoon in the closed military zone of Jebel Mghila, on the side overlooking the Ain Ziyan area in the Sbiba delegation of the Kasserine governorate, wounded a young man around thirty years old, originally from the region, while he was taking care of his sheep, according to eyewitnesses reported by the TAP agency.

The same witnesses confirmed that the family of the injured young man, immediately after obtaining the news of their son’s injury, went to the scene of the explosion, accompanied by several citizens of the region, and took him to the health centre where teams moved him by ambulance to the Kasserine regional hospital to receive first aid.

For his part, the regional health director of Kasserine, Abdelghani Chaabani, revealed in a statement to TunisieNumerique that 3 ambulances were transported from the hospitals of Sbiba, Sbeitla and Kasserine, accompanied by a medical team, to Ain Ziane to provide the required first aid to the injured person and transfer them to the regional hospital and allow them to receive the necessary care.

Chaabani added that the injured man complained of severe injuries to both legs and heavy bleeding, and had to undergo urgent surgery.
