Tunisia-Stephanie Williams:Libyan political dialogue forum aims to develop a roadmap for transparent elections

Acting the deputy head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya for political affairs Stephanie Williams stressed that the  Libyan political dialogue forum is established by the Berlin Conference Outcomes, which were endorsed by Security Council resolutions 2510 (2020) and 2542 (2020). She Highlighting that, prior to the meeting and the signing of the ceasefire agreement during last October, a virtual dialogue based on confidence was primarily conducted with about 1000 Libyan women and men and about 14 thousand participants from Libya during recent weeks, emphasising that the United Nations is encouraged of the good results achieved since the ceasefire, including Particularly the return of about one million barrels of oil per day.

Williams affirmed that the forum strives to achieve 6 goals, the most prominent of which is solidifying the unity of Libya and the independence of its institutions by launching a Libyan route for peace and reconciliation and setting up a roadmap that concludes with transparent and fair elections in Libya.
