Tunisia- Still awaiting clarification on alleged attempted poisoning of President of the Republic Kais Saied

In connection with the alleged attempt to poison the President of the Republic Kais Saied, Tunisie Numérique attempted, unsuccessfully, to contact the Presidency of the Republic for clarifications.

Recall that the newspaper Alchourouk published this morning that a businessman has offered the sum of 20,000 dinars to a worker working in a bakery supplying bread and pastries to the Presidency of the Republic so that he could put “poison” in the products that will be delivered to the palace of Carthage.

An act motivated, it seems, by disputes between the businessman and the owner of the bakery, according to the Alchourouk newspaper.

A few hours later, Mosaïque FM, published that the information services of the Presidency of the Republic denied the alleged poisoning attempt, without any official statement having been issued.

The details of the alleged plot were revealed by Alchourouk in its Friday edition, The newspaper claims that a businessman involved in dangerous cases incited elements to poison the bread and refreshments that were provided to the presidency of the republic by the bakery.

The businessman tried to implicate the bakery owner in a plot to poison the quantities of bread by enticing a worker with 20,000 dinars in exchange for carrying out the operation, but he refused and exposed the scheme.

The businessman is implicated in cases and is condemned to one year and two months in prison for charges of attempted murder and kidnapping of children. He incited a worker in the Lac 2 to put a toxic substance in the dough that the bakery uses and sells it to the Presidency of the Republic.

Security forces realized the plot after the worker admitted everything, an inquiry was opened by the relevant authorities,.The accused enjoys protection in Lac and is able every time to perceive the movements of patrols and block minutes against him.

The worker revealed the scheme after meeting the businessman, in addition, the building guard admitted that the businessman asked him to target the wife of an official Ennasr, but he refused.
