Tunisia-Strong winds stop activity of Djerba’s ferry, except for trip to secure students return

Director of the sub-department of the terminals on the island of Djerba in the regional administration of equipment in Medenine, Farhat Larayed revealed today, Wednesday, that the terminals will cease providing transportation of passengers and cars between Djerba and the Jorf this afternoon due to strong winds.

Larayed added that one trip will be limited to three o’clock in the afternoon to guarantee the return of the students of the Agim Djerba Institute to the Jorf area, in addition to the cars waiting to cross, and then return to Agim through the same path.

He explained that, except for this round trip, the plazas would not be able to provide any flights due to the strong winds, and the process of entry and exit to and from the island of Djerba would be limited to employing the Roman road (Djerba – Zarzis), with the necessity to remain cautious due to the ongoing expansion and preparation works for the plazas, emphasising that the normal activity of the plazas will resume as soon as the weather conditions improve.
