Tunisia- Surgical operations suspended for a month

The Minister of Health, Faouzi Mahdi, has decided to halt all elective surgeries and to keep only those associating with cancer, in all specialities for one month.

A note was addressed on this subject to directors-general of public health establishments, directors of health structures, regional health directors, heads of medical committees and heads of committees to fight against the coronavirus.

The decision was adopted as an outcome of the evolving epidemiological situation in Tunisia in the context of the appearance of new strains and the strengthening of the capacity of hospitals to accommodate patients whose condition needs hospitalization.
