Tunisia-Suspension of bakery activities in more than 10 governorates (video)

Head of the Beja Bakers’ Regional Chamber, Sadok Haboubi, confirmed that the bakers met today on Friday, and decided to halt their activities, from February 1, 2023.

Haboubi explained in a statement to Tunisie Numérique’s Correspondent in the region, that all bakeries will stop their activities because of their inability to pay their financial obligations in the light of non-compliance by the supervisory authority.

He clarified that 14 governorates are impacted by this decision, namely, Béja, Jendouba, Médenine, Gafsa, Kasserine, Tunis, Kef, Manouba, Ariana, Tozeur, and that all the other regions will adhere to this action.

He added that a work session will take place by the National Bakery Chamber on January 24 or 25.
