Tunisia-Tabboubi: “June 16 strike is not politicized”

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, secretary-general of UGTT  Noureddine Tabboubi said that the door remains wide open to participate in the national dialogue.

According to him, numerous factors argue for the refusal to participate in this dialogue by evoking a blurred vision and other factors which remain to be explained, adding that the roadmap presented by the administration during the last ministerial council is considered a submission to the demands of the IMF, accusing the prime minister of advancing an excess in the budget of the current year.

Tabboubi did not fail to caution against any attack on the national army, which constitutes a grave threat to national security.

Addressing the controversy over the strike on June 16, Noureddine Tabboubi notes that it is not a “politicized” strike going back the occasion to the strikes decided by the UGTT   after the assassination of the two martyrs Belaid and Brahmi. The strike declared for June 16 is part of the quest to regularize the purchasing power of the citizen. This is the leitmotif of the UGTT.
