Both Qalb Tounes and Tahya Tounes parties requested a serious inquiry into the assault against deputies of the Free Destourian Party (PDL) bloc and its president Abir Moussi.
Condemning the assault, in an issued statement Tahya Tounes regarded the assault against Mouusi and her bloc a menace to the safety of MPs in the performance of their duties. They further brought attention to the gravity of the provocative speech of some parties which once again unlocks the door to political violence”.They requested for an earnest inquiry to determine responsibility and expose the circumstances of this incident.
According to the TAP agency, they called all concerned parties to guarantee the smooth conduct of legislative work, to comply with the internal rules of parliament, to secure mutual respect among all and to preserve the image of the Parliament as a sovereign institution.
On its part, Qalb Tounes party denounced the assault displaying its profound anger and condemnation at this attack which “is a serious precedent likely to threaten freedom of expression and the democratic process in the country”.They formally requested a serious and transparent investigation into this abuse to determine responsibility and unveil all the factors that led to this culpable and unacceptable incident.
