Speaking today to Tunisie Numérique, secretary general of the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) Taieb Baccouche presented his condolences to the Syrian people following the violent earthquake which took place a few days ago causing thousands of deaths.
Our speaker confirmed that this shock was at the origin of the decline of the infrastructure in Syria adding that the country in question suffers until today the consequences of the crises it has gone through since 2012.
Taieb Baccouche praised the latest telephone interview between the new head of Tunisian diplomacy Nabil Ammar and his Syrian counterpart highlighting that this is a positive stage on the ethical, human and political levels.
“I attempted since 2015 to lessen the impact of the bad policy adopted by the Troika despite all the obstacles and I managed to establish the Tunisia consulate in Syria,” he said.
