Tunisia – Taoufik Charfeddine left alone to face the problem of Sfax

The whole governorate of Sfax is boiling, like a pressure cooker threatening to erupt. On the one hand, there are the masses of waste that have piled up in the roads, for numerous weeks, making the towns unlivable, and on the other hand, there are the residents of Agareb who s ‘oppose the reopening of El Guenna landfill and say they are ready to die for this cause.

Despairing, after a few weeks, to see the Minister of the Environment fix this problem which falls within her competence, Kaïs Saïed gave his commands to the Minister of the Interior to remedy this situation as soon as possible. . Hardly invested in this very delicate mission, the Minister of the Interior, Taoufik Charfeddine, discovered himself let down by everyone, and left alone to confront his fate.

Despite the explosive situation in Sfax, the prime minister allowed herself to go abroad to attend an international conference in Paris. And her Minister of the Environment who, instead of keeping the permanence in her office until the crisis is resolved, which falls within her prerogatives, without forgetting that she has, in a way, contributed to deepening, by stating, during her visit to Sfax, that she had no solution to give to the sfaxiens.

So, in summary, the Minister of the Interior finds himself trusted with a very high-risk mission, while the prime minister is abroad, and while the minister in charge of the file has, too, decided to go see elsewhere if the weather is nice. Also, Charfeddine finds himself engaged in a region where there is, even, no governor, to at least secure the smooth running of operations, and help calm the ardor!
