Tunisia-Tarek Fetiti announces imminent publication of list of absent MPs

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Second deputy Speaker of The House of People’s Representatives “HPR” Tarak Ftiti talked about the cancelled session with INLUCC members and interim Justice Minister Hasna Ben Slimane.

According to Mr Ftiti, Article 109 of the parliament’s rules of procedure entails the session to be adjourned for 30 minutes in the absence of a majority of the deputies.

“The MP is not a civil servant, he likewise has regional and national commitments such as regional councils and meetings with members of the government. As a result, the 217 parliamentary representatives cannot be present at the Parliament all the time, ”he said.

However, the Deputy Speaker affirmed the imminent publication of the list of deputies absent without a valid reason or prior notification.
