Following an investigation and an ambush in the “Al-Dhaher” area, a patrol from the Customs Guard Division in Tataouine intercepted two 4×4 cars engaged in the transhipment of goods. Upon detecting the patrol, the drivers of the vehicles tried to escape towards the desert border area, as disclosed in a report published today, Wednesday, by the General Directorate of Tunisian Customs.
The customs office stated they were chased and warning shots were fired into the air, causing the cargo to disperse. While searching the area, crates were discovered containing a significant quantity of narcotic pills such as “Pregabalin 300 mg”, estimated at 561,113 tablets.
