All observers acquainted with diplomatic protocols did not help but remark the absence of the Tunisian head of diplomacy, Othmene Jerandi at all the ceremonies organized during the official visit of the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbes to Tunisia. An absence which leaves multiple question marks, since diplomatic practices dictate the head of the diplomacy to be present in such circumstances, particularly since he was present in Tunisia, and not on a mission abroad.
Question marks to which some have attempted to find answers, by linking this absence to the latest dismissals of the Tunisian consuls in Paris and Milan, which were determined and announced by the presidency, without referring the matter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who was in Algeria.
These dismissals would have “disturbed” Minister Jerandi who would have chosen to slip away, the time to let the storm pass which seems to shake the corridors of Carthage!
