The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research will work to provide face-to-face courses in all universities and higher institutes by ensuring the application of the anti-covid-19 health protocol and will resort to distance education if the epidemiological situation in the country is developing towards the worst “, underlines Olfa Ben Ouda, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
During a press conference organized online, Monday, September 21, 2020, the Minister specified that in the event of recourse to distance education, the ministry will adopt the pedagogical formula of hybrid learning “blended learning” based on a combination of online training sequences (e-learning) and face-to-face training.
In this context, the Minister reported that internet speed has been strengthened in 75 higher education establishments in addition to the multiplication of computer servers in all universities and the improvement of internet coverage in all university areas.
Ben Ouda added that the department will soon start a training of trainers program in collaboration with the Virtual University of Tunis in the use of new technologies to ensure the continuity of education under all conditions.
