The Ministry of Religious Affairs affirmed that given the development of the epidemiological situation of the coronavirus pandemic in Tunisia, caution must be exercised, calling on the faithful to implement the required preventive measures and comply with the requirements of the hygiene requirements guide to prevent infection by the COVID 19 virus in religious sites.
In a statement released, Thursday, August 06, 2020, the ministry stressed the need to perform ablution at home, not to use the toilet except for emergencies, to bring a personal mat, to wear protective masks and to ” observe the spacing during prayer, while ensuring that the hands are washed with soap and water.
He stressed that through the application of such precautionary measures, during the past period, the health of the faithful has been preserved and mosques have been prevented from becoming places of the spread of this epidemic, which corresponds to the ‘intention of self-preservation as one of the necessary goals of Islam, while any laxity in achieving it is seen as an attack on the security of the people of the country, especially since the positive results recorded in the area of limiting the spread of the Covid-19 virus in mosques.
The ministry stressed that this is the fruit of the understanding, cooperation and sacrifice of all parties involved, again that should not be lost, to avoid the worst.
