Tunisia-The reasons for the postponement of the Francophonie Summit

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a press release this Tuesday, October 12, 2021, after a meeting with representatives of member countries of the International Organization of La Francophonie, regarding the 18th edition of the Francophonie Summit, programmed for November in Djerba.

The Department of Foreign Affairs announced that the participants agreed to postpone the Summit to 2022, while maintaining Djerba, in order to secure wide participation at the highest level and to avoid holding the event in distance.

The ministry further indicated that this proposal will be presented, in the following days, to the Council of Ministers for the Francophonie, for approval.
