According to research files, information was acquired from agents of the National Guard Research and Inspection Team in Tunisia that four young men of Arab nationality were suspected of being entangled in the sale of Tunisian nationality to foreigners outside Tunisia.
Research conducted demonstrated that officers from the National Guard Search and Inspection Team in Tunisia have strengthened their inquiries into the suspects’ movements, as they were discovered to be involved in altering the data of the initially valid passports and the manufacture of identity cards. As well as matching data and changes made to passports by affixing the identity of foreigners as Tunisians and by manufacturing documents of Tunisian nationality and marketing them to the beneficiaries of these fraudulent passports and identity cards. Investigations reported that agents from the research and inspection cell in Tunisia were capable of ambushing the four suspects at a location in the centre of the capital and apprehending them while attempting to sell fraudulent administrative documents.
