Tunisia-To avoid accidents… Mourad Jouini provides set of recommendations to road users during Ramadan [Video]

Head of the Traffic Communication Department at the National Traffic Safety Observatory Mourad Jouini presented recommendations for road users during  Ramadan. His advice comes in response to the considerable traffic congestion observed on certain routes…

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique,Jouini stated that it is natural for driving to be different during Ramadan from the normal pattern, particularly with the body’s need for rest due to staying up too much at times, and hence, before driving a car, it is essential to permit the body to rest, in addition to means of transportation must be prepared for use in terms of regular maintenance.

He stressed the necessity to consider the issue of overcrowding, which the Traffic Safety Observatory has noted on numerous routes, especially on main ones like the southern entrance to the capital, as well as other roads leading to the city centre. Accordingly, he advises taking certain precautions when departing in the morning or during peak traffic periods, including the consideration of alternative, less congested routes.

In the same context, our speaker underscored the necessity to avoid committing some offences, such as using a mobile phone or violations that happen in the last hours of fasting, along with the necessity of wearing a seat belt for the driver and his companions, and avoiding stress and taking risks.
