Tunisia-Traffic Safety Observatory: All measures taken in preparation for second part of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr [Video]

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Head of the Traffic Communication Department at the National Traffic Safety Observatory Mourad Jouini said  that the month of Ramadan, in regard to traffic movement, is split into two parts:

The first part is in the first half of the month of Ramadan, and traffic is nearly non-existent except in some cafes. The structures of the Ministry of Interior have considered this factor, and the presence will be strengthened in areas that see density in circulation.

As for the second half of Ramadan, which witnesses more economic and traffic activity than usual, all required measures have been taken, and the security presence will likewise be intensified in all areas witnessing grown traffic in circulation, according to him.

He added that the role of the traffic units will be sensitizing and awareness-raising, and when crucial, it will turn into an emergency role. The primary purpose of this presence is to spread reassurance to road users. There will also be an intense presence in the last days of the month of Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which this year may overlap with Martyrs’ Day.
