Tunisia-Towards gradual lifting of domestic gas grant

The director general of hydrocarbons at the Ministry of Rachid Ben Dali told the TAP agency that the liquefied gas grant or domestic gas will be slowly lifted, over 4 years from 2023 and up to 2026 and this, in order to orient the subsidies to the beneficiaries.

The official clarified that the grant granted will be determined according to the income and the social situation of the beneficiaries, that is, in a variable manner.

“Each Tunisian household requires two bottles of domestic gas per month,” he said while referring to a study carried out in this area by a study office.
